Feels good. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;But the funny thing, I've put on weight! I guess it's the good Malacca food. Can't believe that in China &amp; KK there's not weight gain... but here, I've put up 1 kg. In fact, I'm surprised as I don't think I'm eating that much. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This is clearly not good for my mission to lose weight :( (now at 86.5kg).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The journey continues... at least I can say the rythm for the gym is there. Wow! That is such pleasant surprise! &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;And now that I'm back, however after 1 week of gym, I'm feeling the exhaustion of work + exercise. Hence, the mix of swim.. but even that gets tiring. As hard as I tried, the good food was just so hard to resist... sigh.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So, it's a ding dong yo-yo battle once more! (what a big challenge!)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;On the slightly positive side, I'm glad it's not the usual 2 kg I usually add on. So there was no gym. And to make matters 'worse', I've been having goodies all week long! (how not to?).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Then once again, the guilt sinks in... so on Sunday, I planned to go to the gym, but the timing was different from what they stated. As I really wanted to go for an exercise, I did the next best thing - a swim.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;And swim I did - which made me very tired in the night. I'm not sure if it's because I swam non stop or is it because of the 1.5 week break of non exercise.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Then today I went to the gym (had to go before 5pm, as the gym closes at this odd hour during CNY). The treadmill run felt surprisingly quite ok. And felt good going to the gym.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;However, I have a concern... that is the hols, travels and now work (outstation) kinda interrupts the gym sessions and this diet program.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;For now, the solution is to not give up and put in as much gym time possible. It's one of the things on my mind.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;But before I go back, I must get prepared with the 'gained weight in this trip' questions. That I'm sure is coming!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;But even when back, there is the adjustment period, which may take a few days (jet lag, catching up with work). Well not because I was lazy, but the hotel gym was spoiled!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Honestly, I'm left 'stranded' - I can't jog in the cold weather here! And I'm feeling really worried (that guilt feeling). I have this guilt feeling cos despite trying to cut down on meals, but I still do eat a fair bit of things on this trip.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The only consolation I have is that I have many walks. Yes, I walk, walk &amp;amp; walk. So hopefully that can considered a form of exercise? - it's the least I can do.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;But in any case, it's the New Year, and I'm looking forward to a great one, with weight loss as one of my New Year's resolutions! And I really try to order the least I could... but still I know it's more than what I should on this diet.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;And if those are not enough, I've not been to the gym the past week since I've been here. Though there are lots of walking, I don't think it can make up for that.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Arghhh. Im not used to this -2 degrees to 4 degrees daily.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I take a short walk, and I feel like 'freezing' - really. Yet, when I got back - I was a lil shocked... as in fact I've gained weight!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Apparently those eating less didn't really help (ok maybe it did make the scale don't increase so much). But to increase weight - that was really surprising.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;And now I'm back here in this cold weather - there are negative degrees! I've seen many times people who run so fast, the slow down much. I knew that that was something I should learn.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Anyway, so I tried it today. I'm not sure if my technique is right, but well I did just that - increasing my speed and then doing some slower ones in between. And I managed to actually run faster a bit - well to 8.4 and then slower to 6.8.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;And I think it is working cos it was tiring! I'm surprised cos the average speed would be around the same to what I usually do (7.4-7.6).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;On another note, today is my second day going to the gym slightly earlier. This is one of the rare times I go to the gym this early.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;But with rather flexible work timing and uncompormising evenings (usually for meetings), this was the best time.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It has been nearly 10 days or so without the gym and I felt the guilt. And true enough, the weighing scale didn't move - still the same. Had I gone to the gym, I think it would be reduced (but I'm lucky it didn't gained too!).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Anyway, I'm glad to have made the choice to go to the gym.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Now I need to do is to put in more gym time throughout the week. Well, losing 0.1kg is not much of a hype huh?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It's really tough this Christmas period! So many cookies and cakes everywhere!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I'm still eating less for meals, but so tempted to eat all these sweet stuffs!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;And once after Christmas, the next big hurdle - Chinese New Year!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I hit the gym twice this week. Woaaa! &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I guess cutting on the rice has helped played a part. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This is good news - need to continue loosing 1-2 kg every 2 weeks or so! Now, while it's nice to get together, but the thing is when you are invited, you are usually treated... and treated well!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The food was really good, and like I said, I was really treated so much - it was as if I was the only one eating!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;And from food to dessert (how could I say no - it would have been impolite, no?).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;But somehow I felt full, and couldn't eat as much as usual - is the stomach finally getting smaller? haha (I hope so!).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;---&lt;br /&gt;And with work creeping up the past few days, the only way I could think of is to really try to eat less. Still no gym till today. I know that doesn't fall in any diet program... &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;But I've cut on rice - aim to cut 20% of rice intake. For dinner I only had chicken meat. And I must say, hunger came in at night - but managed to stay out of food.  &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;And I actually went swimming. Been a while since I swam, preferring to gym as I thought it will burn more calories that way. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;But being Sunday, the gym closes early - so the next best choice was swimming. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It was 10 direct non stop laps - quite an achievement knowing that I haven't been swimming for a while now. In 2005, I somehow did a miracle of loosing weight to a rather light 70-72kg! (my thinnest ever since like 13 years old). &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;78kg is the ideal weight for me as my BMI will be in between the zone - though on the higher end of that zone. But it's fine as I think the weight suites me. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;However, in the past 12 months or so, I've been putting on a lot of weight - mainly due to the stress from work. I remember the scale going from 78 to 80 then 82/84 and even to a high 90kg... and now at 88kg!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;That is like 10kg in the past 1 year. I still look ok I guess, though many have commented on my 'sudden' weight gain.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So, I know that I have to do something. It's been a battle and I don't want to go alone.
